The history of the OnnO Behrends company already starts in the year 1886,
when a young man named Onno Behrends, from the East Frisian town of Norden, opens a retail shop on the island of Norderney, where he proceeds to sell self-packaged tea.
A local newspaper, the "Ost- friesischer Kurier", reports two years later the opening of OnnO Behrends' "Speciality Tea Shop" in Norden.
The original business, where tea was still packaged by hand, has grown into the largest East Frisian tea company with the highest employment. In the factory, located in the idyllic town of Norden, the decade-old OnnO Behrends brand-name quality harmoniously combines with the most modern technical know-how.
There have been many changes, yet one thing has remained unchanged; the quality of the tea. |

Our product range includes
the classical products, which are appreciated not only in East Frisia. It includes the classical blend "OnnO Beh- rends Gold", an extraordinary mixture of Ceylon and spicy Assam teas that was intro- duced in 1928, which was rounded off with "Schwarzer Friese" (Black Frisian) in 1977, a tea with a typically robust aroma.
OnnO Behrends Tee continues to provide deman- ding tea drinkers with the guaranteed quality, which has been its trademark since 1895.
